Embrace the space between black and white

Why do you think our society has come to embrace such black and white thinking patterns? We want the comfort of simplicity we get from movies or songs in our real lives, yet we’ve always known that isn’t realistic. We live in a world of grey, and we only hurt ourselves and each other when we try to force every grey nuance to be black or white.

But are we right to believe that makes us less valuable than we were before the cracks?

The philosophy of Kintsugi has been a critical part of how I keep going despite the wreckage of a broken heart. It’s all too easy to forget that the people we see as “perfect” most likely carry cracks and pain just like you and I do. Hiding from that reality is pointless. Embracing our cracks brings a comfort you’ll never find by constantly trying to hide them.

Goddess has been officially released

If you know me or you’ve watched any of my content, then you probably know that releasing music as a solo artist never appealed to me. I would have never written or produced music again if not for meeting the woman Goddess is about. I wrote her songs before this, but at that time, I could send them to her directly and she loved it when I did.

I may not yet be able to explain why our connection was severed, but I can tell you there’s nothing I want more than to reconnect with her. I want her to know how hard I’m trying to keep the flame she lit inside me burning. I want her to hear this song…

We’re just about a week out from the release of “G

We’re just about a week out from the release of “Goddess”, my very first single.

It’s a song written for someone who came into my life and inspired me in ways I’ll never fully understand. We were taken out of one another’s lives in a manner that’s even harder to understand…but before that happened, I found my passion for making music again after a very long hiatus. If our connection had not been severed, I would have simply sent her the song and never released it to the world.

The more people that pre-save it and stream it, the more the streaming platforms will “push” it when it comes out, and the better my chances are of her actually hearing the song herself (The pre-save link is in my bio!)

I appreciate all the support and kind messages I’ve received so far! I hope each of you never allows yourselves to give up on the things that matter most to your heart.

Today I talk a little bit about what it’s like to navigate what’s known as ambiguous loss. It’s painful and confusing, but I encourage you to try and find meaning in it and keep going.
